Hi, I'm Liz. Thanks for stopping by. You may be curious as to why I decided to blog. I am a passionate person, someone who loves to socialize, laugh, and have fun. Being an extrovert, I take great pleasure meeting and getting to know people. Forming connections with my community makes me happy. If I love something I will share it with you; things that bring me joy, whether it's food, products, services, or trips. If you want to share the things you love with me, contact me!
Travel is a passion of mine. I love to talk about travel, read about travel, indulge in amazing pictures and stories that our world has to offer. I have a degree in English Literature. Writing allows me to express myself and to be creative. As Ibn BattutaNow said, “Traveling – it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller."
My kids are getting older. I am more flexible with the things that occupy my day. I intend to entertain you by sharing some of our stories along the way. I thrive on spending time with friends and family, I will introduce some of them to you in our adventures/activities as many have volunteered to be my "Friends with Bloggerfits." This is where they get to hang out with their blogger friend (Your's truly) and go wherever or do whatever our heart desires. I also plan on making new connections a long the way and continue to nurture my existing ones.
"I love thee with a love that shall not die, til the sun grows cold and the stars grow old." - William Shakespeare.
I love my life, and adore my family. My eldest daughter is Kiki, she is 13 years old. She's a teenager. If you have a teenager, you know what it's like living with one. Just kidding (wink wink), she is a remarkable kid with a big heart. My youngest, Lia is 11 years old, a tremendously funny pre-teen who knows what she wants and vocalizes her likes and dislikes. René is my partner, we've been together for nearly 7 years. He's a great guy, talks more than me if you can believe it. He has two kids, Kash and Jack; they are wonderful humans, we are lucky to have each other. They melded since day one. Life is not easy, navigating different personalities and challenges. I've been trying to be mindful not to sweat the small stuff, sometimes it works and sometimes…not so much.
With that said, everybody needs stress release, right? My way is through tennis, another passion of mine. I spend countless hours on the court, playing singles, doubles, socials, lessons; to better my game every day. Tennis has taught me to be more patient, slow down my pace, and it has helped me realize the view of my own perceptions, it is a phenomenal sport. I am grateful for my tennis community and thankful tennis is in my life. "Every woman's success should be an inspiration to another. We're strongest when we cheer each other on." - Serena Williams
With the pandemic two years in, we miss travelling freely. Kiki and Lia miss their grandpa (Gong Gong in Cantonese), we haven’t been able to visit Hong Kong with their heightened restrictions. Fortunately, we were able to get away to Maui just before the Christmas break (see blog for more details). I am optimistic we will be able to see more of the world again soon. In the meantime, I will share some of our past trips with you, interesting finds around the city and surrounding areas. Standby for a weekend road trip where I have the privilege to review an Airbnb in Vernon set for July. I hope you find my writing amusing and it gives you some insight into whatever interests you.
Thank you again for dropping into A Path Well Written, A Blog about Life, Travel and Lizisms. Be well. Avec amour - Liz
